Objectives
- Establish systematic methods of assessment within the municipality;
- Prepare, install and maintain of tax mapping, showing graphically all properly subject to assessment and gather data concerning the same; and
- Keep record of all transfer, leases and mortgages of real properly rental insurance and cost of construction of building and other improvement on land for assessment purposes.
Functions And General Works
- Establish a systematic method of assessment of real property in the manner prescribed by law and in accordance with rules and regulations issued by the Secretary of Finance;
- Install and maintain a real property identification and accounting system conforming to the standards prescribed by the Secretary of Finance;
- Prepare install and maintain a system of tax mapping showing graphically all property subject to assessment in the municipality and gather all necessary data concerning the same;
- Make frequent physically surveys to check and determine whether all real property within the municipality are listed in the assessment rolls;
- Appraise all items of property at current market value in accordance with law and conduct regular ocular inspection to determine if al properties and assessed correctly;
- Keep a correct records of all transfer, leases and mortgage of real property rentals, insurance and cost of construction of building other improvement on land income for assessment purposes;
- Apply uniformly the assessment levels fixed by law to the current market value of all property subject of assessment;
- Attend to all sessions of the local board of assessment appeals and present any information or record in position as may be required by the board in determining to correct assessment of the real property under a appeal;
- Issue certificate pertaining too, or issue certified copies of the assessment upon a service or fee therefore by the Sanggunian Bayan; and
- Make a report every semester of all assessment during said period and submit copies of said report to all the officials of the Municipal government including the Sangguniang Bayan.
